Emergency paediatric first aid is the minimum qualification required for recently qualified early years practitioners. It’s also the ideal qualification for support staff in nursery and other early years settings. We also provide the full 12 hour paediatric first aid qualification, needed to meet OFSTED and CIW requirements.
First aid is a practical subject, so we believe in teaching it through hands-on practice. That means you won’t be subjected to a course full of presentations, but will have plenty of scenarios and hands-on training. We believe that this makes your training more memorable and creates more skilled and confident first aiders.
Topics covered on the course include:
Looking after an unconscious child or infant
First aid for a child or infant who has stopped breathing
Choking
Seizures
Bleeding and shock
Minor injuries
The roles and responsibilities of a first aider, including incident recording
This course is a level 3 qualification, awarded by the specialist awarding body ITC First. The qualification is regulated by OFQUAL, so you can be assured of up to date training provided by qualified trainers.
We’re based on the South Wales border, so can deliver Emergency Paediatric First Aid in Cardiff, Bristol, Gloucester and beyond. That means we travel widely throughout the area. Contact us to arrange an in-house course for your staff group.
