Description

Emergency paediatric first aid is the minimum qualification required for recently qualified early years practitioners. It’s also the ideal qualification for support staff in nursery and other early years settings.

Practical training

First aid is a practical subject, so we believe in teaching it through hands-on practice. That means you won’t be subjected to a course full of presentations, but will have plenty of scenarios and hands-on training. We believe that this makes your training more memorable and creates more skilled and confident first aiders.

Course content

Topics covered on the course include:

Looking after an unconscious child or infant

First aid for a child or infant who has stopped breathing

Choking

Seizures

Bleeding and shock

Minor injuries

The roles and responsibilities of a first aider, including incident recording

Regulated qualifications

The specialist awarding body ITC First awards this level 3 paediatric first aid qualification. The exams regulators for England and Wales (OFQUAL and Qualifications Wales) oversee this qualification. That means you can be assured of up to date training provided by qualified trainers.
