WELCOME TO BORDERLANDS FIRST AID
First Aid Training and Covid-19 restrictions
We are able to provide face to face first aid training in England and Wales. We will be reducing our attendee numbers and have put in place robust measures to reduce the risk of covid-19 transmission during our courses.
If you hold a regulated first aid qualification that has expired since 16 March or is coming up for renewal you have an additional 3 months in which to renew your qualification under guidance issued by the Health and Safety Executive and First Aid Awarding Organisations Forum. The HSE guidance states that you should have taken steps to renew your qualification, such as booking on to a course for as soon as you’re able. The HSE have allowed for a final extension to 30 September to allow requalification in workplace first aid courses where delegates are unable to find suitable training within this time.
We would therefore anybody who’s qualification is coming up for renewal to book on to a course as soon as you’re able to, in order to ensure that this requirement has been met. If we need to rearrange any booked courses due to an extension of Covid-19 restrictions, we will be offering a place on a future course or a full refund of any course fee paid.
The guidance from our awarding body ITC First can be found at https://www.itcfirst.org.uk/ and the national guidance from HSE and the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum (FAAOF) is listed below, with links.

At Borderlands we believe that first aid is a hands-on subject best taught hands on. One of our first aid courses will teach you to deal with an emergency until professional help arrives. Our courses are practical, externally regulated and nationally recognised, delivered by experienced and engaging trainers.
Our first aid courses
We deliver training in workplace, paediatric and outdoor first aid, so whatever your role we have the course for you.
Our open first aid courses take place in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, close to the South Wales border and in Monmouthshire, South Wales. Our venues are handy for Bristol, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South-West England, as well as Cardiff, Newport and other areas of South Wales. We can also arrange a private course at your venue. Contact us to discuss your needs.
No cancellations guarantee
We understand how frustrating it can be to have a course cancelled at the last minute, and how important it is for you to attend your first aid course. We also believe passionately in the importance of first aid as a life skill that should be taught to as many people as possible.
That’s why we don’t set minimum numbers for any of our first aid courses to run. Once we have a single confirmed and paid booking for any of our open courses, we guarantee that we won’t cancel the course due to low numbers.
