The 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course is suitable for most small and low risk workplaces. It’s also an ideal starting point for anyone wanting to learn first aid for personal peace of mind.
Emergency first aid essentials
We cover the most serious first aid scenarios you’re likely to encounter in a practical, hands-on manner. That means you should leave the course with increased confidence to manage a real emergency.
The HSE stopped ‘approving’ first aid training providers in 2013. Since then, they’ve produced advice for employers to ensure that trainers are up to date and appropriately qualified. One of the easiest ways of ensuring this is to use a provider of regulated qualifications, which is why we do just that. All of our first aid qualifications are awarded by ITC First, a specialist first aid awarding organisation. The exams regulators for England and Wales (OFQUAL and Qualifications Wales) or Scotland (SQA) regulate this qualification.
In line with the course content required by the HSE, you’ll learn:
The role and responsibilities of a first-aider
How to manage an unconscious casualty
Treatment for seizures
Recognising and treating heart conditions, including cardiac arrest, CPR and defibrillator use
First aid for choking
First aid for bleeding and shock
